Paper or pixels? A sticky note and its AI remake
One idea, drawn twice. Vote for the one you would rather be shown, then see how everyone else voted.
We wanted to see whether people still choose the hand-drawn original when a polished remake sits right beside it. So we put the two side by side and asked.
How each picture was made
The sticky note. Green marker on a sticky note, photographed once with a phone. Resized for the web. Nothing else changed.
The AI version. Claude, an AI model, read the chart's points off the photo and rebuilt it as code that draws and animates in your browser. The axes, the words and the zigzag are the same. The glow, the sparks and the pink cascade standing in for the hatched shadow are the remake's own.
What the sketch shows
Risk runs up the side and reward along the bottom. The line climbs in zigzags. Above its tallest early peak sit the words "reward or not", over a hatched shadow that falls away to the bottom right. The line recovers and ends in an arrow beside the words "risk up".
How the count works
One vote per browser, and you can change it. Votes are counted about every 10 minutes, so the split you see can be a few minutes behind. The count describes the people who found this page and chose to vote, and nobody else. What is stored with each vote is set out on our privacy page.
